A Tribute to MAX FACTOR

THE INVENTOR

It saddened me to hear that MAX FACTOR would no longer sell their products in the US. (as of 2010 they will exclusively move to selling thier products in the overseas market) MAX FACTOR, has been known in the make-up industry as the MAKE UP for MakeUp Artist since its creation in 1904. That is over a hundred years ladies. MAX FACTOR was the first in many of the products we cannot live without today...

Some of MAX FACTOR First include:

First to coin the term "makeup"
The first professional makeup for motion pictures (1914)
The concept of color harmony: crafting specific makeup shades to complement women's varying complexions, hair color and eye color
The first false eyelashes, for silent film star Phyllis Haver
The first lip gloss (1930)
The first modern foundation, Pan-Cake (1937)
The first eyebrow pencil
The first foundation in stick form, Pan-Stik (1948)
The first concealer, Erace (1954)
The first wand-applicator mascara
The first water-resistant makeup (1971)

All the brands we love today, at some point pulled inspiration from this brand to create their palettes, glosses, lashes, pencils, etc.

So this post is dedicated to MAX FACTOR, for bringing us so many iconic looks and beauties over the years.

Loving the ageless beauty that is me...
